Range Rover Sport now comes with new features
"It's the extreme version of the Range Rover Sport, the design that will be chosen by those who want to stand out from the crowd." Performance figures are the same as the standard Supercharged model. As a Land Rover, the HST will naturally still have off-road capability. The removable chin spoiler means that approach and departure angles are as good as the standard vehicle. "The Range Rover Sport continues to be a major success for Land Rover, with strong order banks in our markets," said Mohamed Kandeel, vice-president, Sales and Marketing, Land Rover, Alfardan Automobiles. "It appeals not only to those who want a dynamic 4x4 but also to customers who want comfort and refinement. That's why we call it a Sports Tourer. "Customers are coming not just from competitor 4x4s but also from premium saloons.
Keeping her wits; BNL’s Whitted cuts turnovers, increases wins
Its all paying off for her, and us, now. Last year at point guard, Whitted readily acknowledged that turnovers were her bugaboo. She averaged 4.3 miscues per game, but has cut that error rate down to under three, but more importantly the games of nine, eight, seven and six miscues are history. My turnovers, really, was the biggest thing I wanted to improve upon, said the 5-foot-5-inch captain. Its different, though, because last year I was point guard and this year we have Amanda (Anderson) at point, so I dont have the ball in my hands quite as much, so Im naturally going to cut down turnovers some. But I really wanted to improve that, and I felt I worked pretty hard. Conditioning was a big thing, too. Ive always known I needed to improve my conditioning, and Coach G came in and got me to run in the offseason about 15 miles a week, which is way more than Ive ever done.
Jets remaining quiet about injuries
HEMPSTEAD - Running back Cedric Houston, wide receiver Laveranues Coles and cornerback Andre Dyson were all in uniform, but participated in varying degrees as the Jets practiced in shells yesterday. Houston (calf), Coles (head/jaw) and Dyson (knee) were all listed as questionable for Sunday's season finale against the Raiders and did not participate in all 11-on-11 drills. Coles was tested for a head injury Monday night at Miami after Dolphins linebacker Zach Thomas hit him high, opening a gash on Coles' chin. He re-entered the game after being cleared by the Jets' medical staff and being questioned on the game plan by the coaching staff. "Things that they should be able to recall easily,'' Jets coach Eric Mangini said. Coles, adhering to team policy, declined to talk about his status other than to say, "I'm standing here … Just leave it alone.'' Dyson, who was injured in the third quarter and did not return, was limping noticeably and seemed unable to bend his right knee.
'American Idol' Winner Fronts Fitness Campaign
"American Idol" winner Ruben Studdard is encouraging people in his home state of Alabama to follow in his footsteps and lose unwanted weight. The 28-year-old has lost 100 pounds and is asking the state's overweight residents to shed 10 pounds in eight weeks. The singer is helping to promote the "Scale Back Alabama" initiative, which will see Alabama residents lose a total of 10 million pounds if successful. He explains, "I'm not where I want to be, but I'm on the right track, and I'm excited about encouraging other Alabamians to begin their own weight-loss journeys." Studdard's own weight-loss success was based on a regimen of eating a healthy diet and regular exercise, which were sparked by his effort to avoid a family history of diabetes and high blood pressure.
